Cluster 2 counsellors hold 3rd motivational camp 'Menteroh'

By Sahama Participants of the motivational camp with the guest of honour and other officials Cluster 2 counsellors in collaboration with Sufri Bolkiah Takmir Mosque, Perpindahan Berakas held the third motivational camp 'Menteroh' (mental, spiritual, energy) for Healthy Youth Brigade (BRS) members. The event began with a speech from the Chairman of the Council, Cikgu Hj Halim bin Abdullah, as well as Berakas Secondary School counsellor, who explained that the purpose of 'Menteroh' was to cultivate and nourish the values of Islam and pure love for the mosque, as well as to promote close cooperation and networking between mosques and villages' education institutions. Following that, the guest of honour, Haji Nordin bin Haji Abu Bakar, Head of Kg Jaya Bakti and Jaya Setia, too spoke. In his speech, he said, "Through this camp, hopefully the students will be able to acquire knowledge and skills to practise in their daily lives for the realisation of His Majesty's aspiration to produce youth and adults with firm identity and progression." The guest of honour then proceeded to plant a sapling to mark the opening of the camp while the Chairman of JAPTIM (Committee of Principals and Deputy Principals) Cluster 2, Awang Zamain bin Abdul also planted saplings. Various activities featuring energy, spiritual and mental qualities were compiled by the Committee of Cluster 2 for the participants, which included a cleaning campaign at the mosque compound, 'ice-breaking', workshops, as well as the recitation of Surah Yaasiin, tahlil and blessings upon Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). Also present at the ceremony were the principals of Cluster 2, counsellors, secondary school teachers, one of whom was to be appointed as an assistant counsellor, school volunteers, and committee members of Sufri Bolkiah Takmir Mosque.

One Village, One Product

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Ministry of Home Affairs held a briefing on the "One Village, One Product" project for members of village consultative committees.

Members of the Kampong Masjid Lama, Pekan Muara, Sabun and Pelumpong Consultative Council attended the briefing at the residence of Village Head Pengiran Haji Mohamed bin Pengiran Haji Osman @ Haji Othman.

The briefing was delivered by Awg Matusin bin Orang Kaya Sura Hj Tuba; Senior Special Duties Officer at the Ministry of Home Affairs.

He explained the purpose and meaning of the "One Village, One Product", initiative, the selection method (production), new products that will be explored and developed and the implementation and methodology by the Village Consultative Council as a key to success.

The briefing provided in-depth knowledge and understanding of thi_One Village, One Product project.

Pg Hj Mohammed hoped that the members of the consultative council and village residents would be able to contribute to the advancement and economic development of the village products and meet the needs of the local and overseas markets.

Also present at the briefing were Dato Paduka Hj Abdul Rahman bin Abdul Kahar, Advisor to the Village Consultative Council, senior officers of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Brunei-Muara District officers and the village consultative council committee members.

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, 22 Feb - Buat julung kalinya, Kementerian Hal Ehwal Dalam Negeri, Negara Brunei Darussalam mengadakan taklimat satu kampung satu produk kepada ahli-ahli jawatankuasa majlis perundingan kampung di negara ini. Ahli Jawatankuasa Majlis Perundingan Kampong Masjid Lama, Pekan Muara, Sabun dan Pelumpong merupakan kumpulan pertama yang berpeluang mengikuti taklimat tersebut bertempat di rumah Ketua Kampong Masjid Lama, Pekan Muara, Sabun dan Pelumpong; Pengiran Haji Mohamed bin Pengiran Haji Osman @ Haji Othman. Taklimat tersebut telah di sampaikan oleh Pegawai Tugas-Tugas Khas Kanan, Kementerian Hal Ehwal Dalam Negeri Awang Matusin bin Orang Kaya Sura Haji Tuba. Sebelum itu Ketua Kampong Masjid Lama, Pekan Muara, Sabun dan Pelumpong selaku Pengerusi MPK dalam ucapan alu-aluan dalam majlis itu mengharapkan Ahli-ahli Jawatankuasa Majlis Perundingan Kampung dan penduduk kampung akan dapat memberikan sumbangan yang padu terhadap kemajuan dan perubahan kampung yang bermakna kepada pembangunan ekonomi kampung untuk menjadikan produk kampung itu nanti mampu dijadikan sebagai tarikan kepada pelancong dan memenuhi kehendak pasaran dalam dan luar negara. Tujuan taklimat yang diadakan untuk memberikan pengetahuan mendalam dan kefahaman sebenar Projek Satu Kampong Satu Produk. Turut hadir mendengarkan taklimat tersebut ialah Penasihat Majlis Perundingan Kampong berkenaan Dato Paduka Haji Abdul Rahman bin Abd Kahar, Pegawai-Pegawai Kanan Kementerian Hal Ehwal Dalam Negeri dan Jabatan Daerah Brunei dan Muara serta Jawatankuasa Majlis Perundingan Kampung tersebut.

Sebelum dikir Marbahan oleh Takmir Masjid Kampong Kapok dan Belia-Belia Masjid Kampong Kapok, majlis tersebut disemarakkan dengan ceramah khas maulud yang disampaikan oleh Iman Haji Jufri bin Haji Hidup; Pegawai Hal Ehwal Masjid, Kementerian Hal Ehwal Agama Negara Brunei Darussalam dengan tajuk "Mengenai Keperibadian Rasulullah". Turut hadir di majlis tersebut ialah Ketua Kampong Kapok, Awang Haji Mahali bin Haji Ahmad, Jawatankuasa Majlis Perundingan Kampung Kapok, para belia dan penduduk kampong sekitarnya.

PHOTOS: SAHAMA Dental hygiene should be taught at an early age to prevent serious tooth decay. Hence, Haji Tarif Primary School, Brunei I, Mukim Tamoi recently held a tooth-brushing activity for its pupils which was launched by the school's headmistress, Dayang Hamiltun Haji Abdul Samad. Cikgu Roy Morni bin Awang, the school's Science teacher provided information about oral hygiene, dental function and a demonstration on proper brushing methods. This knowledge is important for students to ensure that food that get stuck in between the teeth can be removed to prevent tooth decay. Cikgu Hamiltun then distributed record forms for the tooth-brushing activity and toothbrushes and toothpaste to the respective class teachers to ensure that all pupils brush their teeth every day after recess. Each student is supplied with a toothbrush including the teachers, contributed by the school administration. The activity is intended to provide early exposure to the students on the correct brushing techniques so that good dental hygiene can be maintained throughout their lives.

The first meeting of 2012 for the Consultative Council Committee was held at the residence of the Head of Kampong Tamoi Tengah and Tamoi Ujong, who is also the chairman of the council, Awang Tarip Haji Asgar. Prior to the meeting, Penghulu Mukim Tamoi, Pengarah Haji Mokti bin Mat Salleh, spoke and encouraged the committee members to be actively involved in all the activities to be organised and also congratulated the 'Generasi Anak Mukim Tamoi' (GAMTA) rower group for winning the Regatta Competition Brunei Darussalam. Mukim Tamoi rowers have always been known to be experienced paddlers for a very long time.

Allah Subhanahu Wata'ala memberikan kesihatan dan kelapangan kepada hamba-hambaNya untuk berpeluang berdikir sebagai tanda mencinta dan menyanjung keperibadian serta mengenang kelahiran Junjugan Besar Nabi Muhammad S.A.W Begitulah di antara ucapan alu-aluan daripada pengerusi majlis Imam Pengiran Haji Rusman bin Pengiran Haji Shahbudin. Tetamu kehormat di majlis tersebut ialah Pengiran Haji Zamani bin Pengiran Haji Ahmed; Penguasa Polis, Pegawai Pemerintah Pasukan Simpanan Polis Diraja Brunei, Negara Brunei Darussalam. Oleh Sahama Bergambar ramai sempena mesyuarat pertama Jawatankuasa Majlis Perundingan Kampung (MPK) Tamoi Tengah dan Tamoi Ujong bagi tahun ini. BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, 6 Feb - Walkaton dan gotong-royong membersihkan kawasan tanah perkuburan Islam Alangan (Tamoi) merupakan antara agenda yang akan dijalankan oleh Jawatankuasa Majlis Perundingan Kampung (MPK) Tamoi Tengah dan Tamoi Ujong bagi tahun ini. Ia dibincangkan pada mesyuarat pertama 2012 di rumah Ketua Kampung Tamoi Tengah dan Tamoi Ujong merangkap Pengerusi MPK, Awang Tarip bin Haji Asgar. Penghulu Mukim Tamoi Haji Mokti bin Mat Salleh dalam ucapan alu-aluanya mengharapkan MPK itu akan bergerak lebih cergas lagi tahun ini. Beliau juga mengucapkan tahniah kepada pekayuh Generasi Anak Mukim Tamoi (GAMTA) yang berjaya dalam Pertandingan Regata Brunei baru-baru ini sekali gus mengharumkan nama Mukim Tamoi. Beliau juga berkesudian menyampaikan pingat kepada pekayuh yang memenangi pertandingan tersebut.
