Around 150 students attended a Peer Guidance Councellors (PRS) course for Cluster II of the 2011 session held at the Lambak Kiri Secondary School, Lambak Kiri Landless Indigenous Citizens Housing Scheme.
The chief guest was Awang Haji Ali bin Haji Zainal, Deputy Principal of Academic, Pengiran Isteri Hajah Mariam Secondary School, Serasa.
He said that the members of the Peer Guidance group are trained to have understanding, motivation and respect for themselves before they can help and guide their peers in school.
He also expected the PRS students to improve or at least maintain their academic performance. Through their good academic achievement, they can help in their colleagues' studies and emotional problems.
The event began with the recital of surah al-fatihah led by Awang Haji Azrin bin Haji Tunjang, School Counsellor of Pengiran Isteri Hajah Mariam Secondary School followed by a speech by the Chairman of Cluster II, Awang Haji Halim bin Abdullah, Berakas Secondary School Counsellor.
The Peer Guidance members were involved in various activities organised by the school's counsellors of PIHM Secondary School, Lambak Kiri Secondary School, Berakas Secondary School, Sultan Sharif Ali Secondary School, Sayyidina Abu Bakar Secondary School and Pengiran Anak Puteri Hajah Masna Secondary School.
The basic course was jointly organised jointly by PIHM Secondary School and Lambak Kiri Secondary School.
An Advance Course will be held at the Sultan Sharif Ali Secondary School in Kampung Salambigar.
The purpose of the basic course was to expose the students and to help their colleagues at school. It was also held to strengthen ties among students of secondary schools in Cluster II.
