Even as Rabiulawal has passed, Muslims in the country are still celebrating the birthday of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).
Muslimah Bureau, Takmir Committee of Setia Ali Mosque in Pekan Muara recently celebrated a 'Maulud' in conjunction with Prophet Muhammad's (pbuh) birthday, attended by 180 people.
The guest of honour was Dr Hajah Jamilah binti Haji Mohd Yusof, the wife of the Brunei-Muara District Officer.
The recital of the surah al-fatihah was led by Dayang Hajah Suhaini binti OKB Haji Mohd Dayang.
Chairman of Muslimah Bureau, Hajah Rosemah binti Haji Mohd Yussof, said the ceremony was for the Muslim community's welfare and religious appreciation, to sow the Islamic teachings to the Muslim community and to assimilate Tarbiah in the future generation.
The Muslimah Bureau plans to conduct " Refining Taharah course" for Muslim participants.
A special lecture by Ustazah Hajah Zaliha binti Haji Ibrahim, Senior Lecturer, Religious Seri Begawan College University, revolved around the life of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).
